After a longer journey than planned, I’m very happy to say that Asteroids in Godot 4 is finally complete and live. If you are a lifetime backer, you will find it automatically added to your products.
This has been my first full course in Godot, and it’s been a learning experience in more ways than one. It is a comprehensive course from a blank project all the way to a complete game.
Looking back, I didn’t chunk the lessons well enough during the prototype stage. That made editing and pacing a little trickier than they should have been. Lesson learned for next time. I may even run an extra prototype phase before recording future projects.

As the saying goes, “the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” The aim was to finish before the summer holidays, but life had other ideas. I took a short break, came back refreshed, and was immediately gifted the lurgy by my own children. Then came the back-to-school season, and with it, even more bugs.
By that point my working context had completely vanished, and it took time to rebuild the rhythm and momentum I’d had earlier in the year.
On the positive side, there have been some great developments behind the scenes. We now have two in-house editors focused on making our videos sound and look their best. They’ll also be producing accurate, human-made subtitles for all new courses, which should make our content more accessible and precise. Training everyone up has taken a few weeks, but the long-term benefit is absolutely worth it.
All the recording is now finished, the editing is in its final stages, and the course is available today.

What’s Next
This marks the soft launch of Asteroids in Godot 4. I always forget how much there is to do around a course beyond just recording and editing, there are thumbnails, landing pages, subtitles, marketing materials, and a fair bit of behind-the-scenes admin.
Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll see more promotional content and a few deep dives into what went into the project.
For the next two weeks, the course will be half price, so if you’ve been looking to get started with Godot 4, this is the perfect time.
Outside of this launch, there are plenty of other things in motion, especially with Blender 5 on the horizon. This post is already getting long, so I’ll save those updates for another day. Keep an eye out for new announcements soon.
